Fanciful Feline Clay Workshop- Design and create a co;orful cat sculpture in the style of Laurel Burch by using the dowel handbuilding technique. This class is designed for 6th grade through adults. Join us in the tradition of Laural Burch by following step by step instructional demos to create your own personalized clay sculpture, and discover your inner Cattitude along the way! $50 per person. 5:30-7:30- Clay Class May 20th / Glaze Class June 8th OR 9th OR 10th 6:30pm, your choice.
Calligraphy- Back by popular demand! Take this 5 day workshop and learn the art of Chancellor Italic Calligraphy. You wil be ready to tackle wedding invitations, special thank you notes, certificates, poetry, quotes, and more with this special style of beautiful calligraphy. $70 per person covers instruction and all supplies. High school and up. June 8,9, 10, 15,16. 5:30-6:15pm
Mosaic Workshop-.Learn the mosaic technique by cutting real stained glass to make your image to be glued and then grouted into a stunning work of art. All supplies are furnished. $70.00 fee. June 22, 23,24. 5pm-8pm
Drawing and Painting Workshop- This workshop is designed for children ages 7-17. There will be tips and demonstrations to improve drawing skills. Also, several paintings will be completed by each participant by the end of the course. July 14,15,16,20,21. from 3pm-4pm, $50 fee includes materials.
Clay Sculpture for Young Hands Workshop- Learn the properties of clay while creating slab pots, coiled pots, pinched pots and more., July 14, 15, 16,20,21; from 4pm-5pm, $50 fee includes clay, glazes, instruction and firings.(ages 7 & up)
Potter’s Wheel Workshop- Students will develop potter wheel throwing techniques by learning to wedge, center, and form vessels on the potter’s wheel. Students will receive plenty of demonstrations and practice, so that bowls and mugs can be completed by each student. This two week workshop will be taught July 13-16 and July 20-23 ; from 11am-12:45pm. $100 fee includes materials such as clay, glazes and firings for the two weeks. (middle schoolers-adults)
Artsy Gourd Containers- Turn a large dried gourd into a “gourdeous” work of art. Use dremel tools, wood burning tools, leather dyes, varnish, etc. to create your own artful gourd container. Also, you will get plenty of instruction in pyrography. July 27,28,29.. 5:30-7:30pm $40 for the three day class.
3 Day Pottery wheel (throwing off the hump) Workshop-Achieve 5 to 10 miniature coffee cups that are beautifully embellished with carvings and red iron oxide stains and glazes. These will be perfect to wear as one of a kind necklace pendants. Must have prior basic pottery wheel skills. $60 per person. August 5, 6,7th. 11:00-12:30 am OR 5:00-6:30pm. Choose morning or evening.
Introduction To Precious Metal Clay- Watch my demo and then design and make your own pure silver earrings or necklace pendant. $25. Includes everything! What a deal! 5-6:30pm Oct. 2nd
More Advanced Methods with Precious Metal Clay- This 2 day class includes more silver per student and you will learn to set stones in your silver jewelry. Receive enough pure silver to make approximately 6 or 7 jewelry items. Oct. 16th and 20th from 5:00-7:30pm $80 per person
Raku hand-building Clay Workshop- This in-depth workshop is designed to teach clay hand building techniques such as coiling, modeling and slabbing and the history of Japanese handbuilt pots. Several of your pots will be raku fired. All other clay items produced will be fired the traditional way with dinner safe glaze. $140 fee will cover 25lbs of raku clay, glazes, firings and instructions. Class size is strictly limited to twelve students. Oct. 27, 29 and Nov.3,5,10,12,17,19,24.. from 5pm-7pm.
